REPORTS TO: General Manager, Otherworld Philadelphia

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and enthusiastic full-time candidate eager to join our organization. You will play a key role on the leadership team of a facility within our nationwide portfolio of entertainment assets that includes Immersive Interactive Experiences, Haunted Attractions, Halloween Festivals, Escape Rooms, and Axe Throwing. We are looking for a motivated, results driven individual to lead our sales team. They are responsible for executing impeccable customer service, upholding company standards, and maximizing onsite sales and revenue performance. The Sales Manager will hire, train, schedule, manage and motivate our sales team working in the Box Office, Retail, Café, and Special Events. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our staff develop, while ensuring Otherworld Philadelphia and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group achieve their financial and creative goals. Extensive POS and Cash Handling experience are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staff Management

· Recruit, hire and train an entirely brand-new team of box office cashiers, scanners, café attendants, bartenders, and retail staff.

· Assist General Manager with training of sales staff.

· Ensure staff understand job responsibilities and procedures.

· Ensure that payroll is submitted on an assigned payroll schedule.

· Schedule teams for both day-to-day business and special events

· Coach staff and provide positive and critical feedback on a regular basis to elevate the overall efficiency and performance of the operations team.

Sales and Marketing

· Report key results to General Manager and corporate finance department weekly.

· Ensure all POS systems are working properly, and report maintenance needs to General Manager and corporate team for prompt repairs.

· Ensure Cash Handling best practices are followed.

· Oversee all cash counts and local banking processes.

· Ensure timely ordering of all F&B items, facility supplies and equipment.

· Complete all internal paperwork on a timely and quality basis.

· Collaborate with corporate marketing department for development of location specific action plan for “getting the word out” about company offerings.

· Act as a brand ambassador during all interactions.

Operations

· Facility Maintenance – ensure all sales areas, systems and infrastructure are in good working condition, clean, and present a professional image.

· Supplies – ensure all necessary supplies are stocked, and that trackable items such as merchandise are secured.

· Work closely with the Operations and Exhibit Managers to create a cohesive work environment where cashiers, ops staff and exhibit staff are working hand in hand to create a world class guest experience.

· Ensure company procedures are carried out for opening and closing the facility.

· Maintain frequent communication with corporate management regarding overall operations, needs, concerns, and customer feedback.

· Maintain knowledge of local competitor’s attraction quality, industry trends, customer feedback, and general sales.

Customer Service

Assist with training staff to ensure the following goals are reached:

· Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.

· Resolve customer complaints.

· Sell merchandise, food & beverage, and private events.

· Encourage customers to share and review their experience via online outlets.

· Engage with customers as needed through the entirety of their visit.

Creative

· Collaborate with creative teams from both Otherworld and TFEG Corporate teams to develop new promotions, sales, and specialty items.

· Visit industry attractions for R&D, inspiration, and consistent improvement of best sales practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 5+ years of Sales Management experience, ideally working in an interactive exhibit, theme park, live event, museum, retail, restaurant, haunted house, or gallery environment.

· Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum, and social skills.

· Experience managing and understanding the P&L process.

· Strong operational experience in understanding all sales areas.

· Excellent organization skills, manages time well, correctly prioritizes and is flexible.

· Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and late nights.

· A positive, can-do attitude required.

· Accountable with a strong executive presence

· Must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development.

· Must pass company background screen and reference check.

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
