THE OPPORTUNITY

Silke Communications Solutions is currently hiring a Sales Engineer with experience in two-way land mobile radio, cellular, custom car audio/alarms, or equivalent systems to join our team. As the Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for working with our Sales Team evaluating customer needs for radio communications. Interacting with the senior technical team in matching customers' needs with available product lines in a professional, timely manner. This role will coordinate with multiple team members in a fast-paced, always-changing environment.

This position can be located at our West Sacramento, Antioch, or Salinas locations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Accompany Sales Team on customer meetings and walk-throughs.
  • Consult with Senior Technical Team members on planning and design.
  • Generate Scope of work for internal and customer presentations.
  • Generate BOM (build of material) for Sales Quoting
  • Coordinate with Senior Technical to estimate labor efforts for BOM and quote
  • Discover and determine safety requirements for site work.
  • Classify the project as prevailing wage if necessary, capturing all relevant information for filing.
  • Ensure that technicians follow company and manufacturer policies and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in two-way land mobile radio, cellular, custom car audio/alarms or equivalent.
  • Adept at listening to others' presentations, and asking pertinent and relevant questions, with the ability to interpret issues and pass them on to others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses adept computer skills; MS Office, email, spreadsheets and web-based scheduling.
  • Is a quick learner, can operate both independently and with a larger team, and has the right combination of customer service focus and ethics, with strong attention to detail.
  • Technical background, ability to quickly learn technical procedures.
  • Flexible schedule, may occasionally need to work weekends and/or holidays at times to accommodate customer scheduling needs.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to travel to customer sites during normal business hours
  • Able to pass a background check for public safety work.
  • Must be a US Citizen or otherwise legally able to work in the United States (we will not sponsor visa requests).

Bonus if you have:

  • Sales experience
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
  • Any FCC license (Amateur, GMRS, GROL).
  • IT or Networking experience.
  • Understanding of basic wireless principles (VHF, UHF, VSWR, dipoles, yagi, analog, digital).

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $90,000 annually plus quarterly bonuses.
