Summary

The Safety Manager will be responsible for managing safety, health, and security processes along with providing leadership to employee safety and health issues. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance with regulatory agencies along with internal Ryder safety and health policies. Candidate will support operational personnel to ensure that continuous improvement systems are in place to drive positive results relative to employee safety programs, safety compliance, worker's compensation and injury/collisions. The candidate will track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that address Health and Safety practices and results for the Lansing / Holt location. Manager will conduct/coordinate incident investigations including Root Cause Analysis, and identification and implementation of effective countermeasures along with serve as a Lessons Learned Specialist and manage high value learning, and communication of these processes. Candidate will have an active role in local UAW / Management Safety Committee along with the new hire orientation process.

  • Compensation : The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000-$80,000 (paid bi-monthly)
  • Schedule : M-F 2nd shift 2pm-11pm

  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production advanced required

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
  • Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
  • One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required. advanced required
  • Logistics industry knowledge advanced required
  • Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations. advanced required
  • Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain Management components. intermediate required
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production advanced required
