RRE Manager

We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented RRE Manager to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.
The Rotating, Reliability, and Electrical Engineering (RRE) Manager reports to the Engineering and Projects Manager and provides leadership and technical oversight for their assigned Inspection and Engineering teams. The RRE Managers works with the Inspection Supervisors and a team of inspectors and engineers to provide integrity assurance for rotating and electrical equipment. The Reliability Engineer reports to the RRE manager and facilitates reliability studies, manages the Manage Threats (MTO) and Asset Infrastructure Assurance (AIA) databases, and interfaces with other Sites on reliability issues.
The RRE Manager will provide technical assurance to the overall performance of the RRE team through leadership, training, and personnel development. The RRE Manager is part of the extended leadership team (ELT) and collaborates with all departments leaders to deliver targeted business results. The RRE manager is expected to oversee and manage performance of departmental personnel through training, staffing levels, personnel development, budgeting, and continuous business process improvements. The RRE Manager, in conjunction with the Inspection Supervisors, is responsible to preparation and delivery of continuous improvements of Rotating and Electrical equipment and meet overall reliability targets.
The RRE organization supports integration of Shared Stewardship of Assets for Rotating and Electrical Equipment Integrity across entire organization and help others in the organization understand their role in maintaining equipment integrity as related to Rotating and Electrical Equipment and proper design and maintenance of these systems
Job Responsibilities May Include:
  • Complying with legal requirements, assuring industry standards / basic practices are reviewed with a position developed for MRC, identifying technical assurance issues, and escalating as necessary, and participation in networks within the discipline.
  • Budget development and cost control, initiation, and stewardship of improvement programs such as Capital projects, turn around work scopes, and major projects related to maintaining the overall health of the discipline and delivery of premised business targets.
  • Human resources including staff planning, job posting, salary administration, personnel growth, personnel training, setting priorities, and load leveling within the department
  • Determine performance standards (coaching, counseling, performance reviews), overviews formal recognition programs (MRA awards, quality, etc.), manages the department business model (goals, value drivers, etc)
  • Establishing performance metrics to track and assurance and reliability and monitor efficiency.
  • Oversee the technical assurance programs implemented to preserve rotating and electrical equipment integrity and reliability studies at the Site
  • Continuous improvement, managing corporate assessments, report KPI’s, and other duties associated with the role of process resource.
Working Conditions:
  • During occasional high maintenance events (TA, Project Execution, Overhauls) an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years’ experience in the mechanical or electrical equipment discipline in
the petrochemical industry.
  • 5 years supervisory experience

The salary range for this position is $115,943.03 - $196,721.27. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases.
