Summary:
Serves as a unit-based resource, mentor and supervisor to the assigned areas of responsibility. Assists the Unit Manager in being accountable for optimal patient care, patient care standards, fiscal operations and systems that support patient care with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health. Collaborates with the manager, communicates and exemplifies vision for change for interdisciplinary unit teams and practice groups including coaching, mentoring, directing, supporting, and teaching. Participates in the delivery of high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
Formal Education Required:
a. BSN
b. Master’s degree preferred
c. Certification preferred-or required to obtain within two years
d. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio
Experience & Training Required:
a. One (1) year nursing experience and demonstrated leadership qualities
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
b. Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback, supporting team goals, and encouraging collegial relationships with others
c. Ability to provide necessary care to patients are required utilizing judgment supported by evidence and nursing theory
d. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
Level of Physical Demands:
a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
