What You Will Do as the Assistant Director of Nursing

As a Stonerise ADON, you will assist in the overall functioning of the nursing department. You will assist and support the translation of nursing philosophy of the center into practice by participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care delivery.

As an ADON, some of your primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and participating in the development, organization, and implementation of the objectives, policies, procedures, and standards of nursing care in accordance with the goals of the center.
  • Conferring with the Director of Nursing (DON) in assessing the quality of nursing care being delivered and recognizing the need for improvement.
  • Assisting with development, direction, participation, and evaluation of the orientation program for nursing staff; responsible for orientating new nurses in the absence of the Director of Staff Education.
  • Making daily rounds to evaluate patient care, progress of individual employees, monitoring nursing practices, and assisting staff with nursing and educational needs.
  • Assisting with on-site evaluation of employee performance.
  • Assisting with daily scheduling to ensure adequate and safe staffing necessary to deliver nursing services.
  • Maintaining the safety of patients and staff.

Schedule

Full-Time, Exempt
Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements
  • Active RN license in the state of WV.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in a long-term care facility
