Position Summary

The Georgia O'Keeffe Welcome Center in Abiquiu, NM is seeking a Retail Services Associate. The Retail Sales Associate works in the Welcome Center's gift shop, representing the Museum in greeting and assisting visitors with their retail purchases and inquiries.

*COVID-19 considerations:

All visitors and employees are required to wear a mask at all times and maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more. All staff complete COVID safe practices training through NM Safe Certified. Common surfaces are sanitized regularly, and cleaning measures are in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Curbside pickup is available for retail purchases. Masks and PPE are provided to all staff.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

-Assists customers with purchases, rings up transactions on point of sale system, bags/packs merchandise after purchase.

-Performs daily cash management including opening/closing the register(s), orders change from accounting, safely secures banks in the safe.

-Restocks merchandise as needed, cleans/organizes merchandise to maintain store appearance and visual merchandising layout.

-Maintains product knowledge and keeps a record of vendors for new employees to read.

-Complete special projects or additional duties as assigned, and consistent with the skills, training, level of responsibility and other requirements for this position

Background and Qualifications

-High School or GED preferred

-2 years’ experience in front-facing retail preferred

Skills and Abilities

-Excellent customer service skills

-Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills

-Ability to operate a point of sale system
