Research Scientist I, Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health Job at UTMB Health

The Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women’s Health (CIRWH) at UTMB is recruiting for an experienced research scientist who will conduct, report, and present research on HPV-related cancers, HPV vaccine uptake, and HPV prevalence within the US population. This position is intended for a fully trained scientist with competency in a specific discipline or area of expertise related to population health. Strong writing skills and a background in statistics are preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete research assignments under minimal supervision
  • Perform literature searches and identify gaps in the literature
  • Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of population-level data
  • Assist with or perform systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Regularly prepare and submit manuscripts for publication
  • Develop abstracts and present research at national meetings
  • Perform additional related duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph. D, M.D, D.O., or D.V.M in related field and no experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Background in cancer prevention research
  • Advanced statistical knowledge
  • Experience conducting quantitative and/or qualitative studies
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Excellent writing skills and a history of peer-reviewed publications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
