Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CCDH) Registered Nurse

Responsibilities:
Provide expert nursing care to infants and children diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for CDH patients.

Monitor patients' vital signs, respiratory status, and overall health to ensure optimal care and early identification of any complications.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Assist in surgical procedures and post-operative care for CDH patients.

Educate patients' families on the condition, treatment options, and ongoing care requirements.

Provide emotional support and counseling to families during their child's hospitalization and throughout the recovery process.

Document patient care activities, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills related to CDH care.

Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida or multistate.

Preferred minimum of two years of experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in a neonatal or pediatric intensive care unit.

Preferred specialized knowledge and experience in caring for patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

BLS and preferred PALS certifications.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the healthcare team and provide support to patients and families.
