HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake - Texas City FSED

In addition to our main hospital emergency department, we also serve the Bay Area community through our HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake - Texas City FSED locations in Texas City and Pearland. A department of HCA Houston Clear Lake, our two 24/7 ER locations offer full-service emergency room care, board-certified physicians, and access to laboratory and imaging services.

Our Texas City ER offers comprehensive emergency services for all types of acute injuries and illnesses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Texas City9-bed FSED is located at 3302 Palmer Hwy., Texas City, TX 77590.

  • Staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and on-call specialists
  • Access to on-site lab and imaging
  • All major insurance plans accepted
  • Ambulance transport and direct admission to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake or HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland

What you will do in this role:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patient
  • Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
  • Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care
  • Routinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
  • Routinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
  • Routinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
  • Assumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed


What qualifications you will need:

  • ADN required; BSN enrolled
  • Current Texas State RN license or compact license
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • EKG certification or successful challenge of EKG exam
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification
  • TNCC certification required within 18 months of hire
  • CEN certification encouraged
  • NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire, unless currently certified then needs to be maintained.
  • Two acute stroke educational activities attended annually
  • Two years RN Emergency Services (ED) experience
