As a Nurse at Centura, you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City, is a Joint Commission accredited 99-bed hospital that serves as a regional referral center for southwest Kansas. Acute care is at the heart of what we do. St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City provides health services that include diagnostics and interventional cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation. We combine patient-centered care with modern technology and medical expertise to treat a wide range of medical conditions.
The Emergency Department at St. Catherine Hospital has eight beds with a possible run over for eight more beds, we treat all ED patients. We also do outpatient care in the afternoons as needed. Here, we see traumas, chest pain, strokes, sepsis and all other medical patients. Our mission is to treat others how you would like to be treated. This is a desirable department since we have a set schedule, are rural and tend to get some very interesting cases. We have a behavioral health inpatient unit and take care of a lot of behavioral health patients. In our department, we look for dependable team players. Caring for Your Whole Well Being:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
- Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
- Emergency Department (ED) RN experience required
- BLS from the American Heart Association required
- ACLS from the American Heart Association required within six months of hire or transfer
- PALS from the American Heart Association or ENPC required within six months of hire or transfer
- NIHSS and TNCC also required within six months of hire or transfer
- One year experience preferred
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
