We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care/ICU Department. This position is part time, scheduled 1-12 hour Varied shift, for a total of 12 hours per week, and is eligible for a 13% pay differential in lieu of benefits. Mid Columbia Medical Center is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Responsibilities:
Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the Department Director or designee as defined by Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(ORS. 678.150/851-045-0030 through 851-045-0100) Nurse Practice Act (2008)}.

The hospital-assigned Registered Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for MCMC including those for patient assessment and transfer.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):
Education:
  • Graduated from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred, with a minimum of 650 clinical hours required.
  • Oregon RN License
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required, TNCC within one year of hire, CCRN preferred


Experience:

  • Six months nursing experience or successful completion of nursing internship program preferred. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized
  • The ideal candidate will have Telemetry or Progressive Care experience, excellent IV and EKG interpretation skills, and display the ability think critically in a fast paced environment. Proven experience with IV drip titration, and an exposure to the Emergency Dept setting is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information.

  • A thorough understanding and belief in the Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care is essential in order to provide the highest level of personalized care to our patients.
