Overview

The Regional Manager of Facilities is responsible to help maintain all company facilities throughout their respective Region and provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services, costs and processes to meet the needs of the company.

General Responsibilities

  • Help develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements.
  • Conduct and document regular facilities inspections. Keep Operational personnel informed of results.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency coordinate new locations and/or transfers.
  • Supervise internal Facility Maintenance personnel as well as outside third-party contractors in the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations.
  • Plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, waste disposal and parking.
  • Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency obtain multiple quotes from vendors and suppliers.
  • Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize a cost-effective strategy.
  • Help negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost savings all while the needs of the operation are met.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers manage contractor and vendor relationships.
  • Check completed work by contractors and vendors and verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
  • Help prepare and track facility budget and monitor monthly Facility spend.
  • Complete Purchase Orders and Cap Ex Requests where needed.
  • Work alongside of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) ensuring that equipment needs are met.
  • Assure security of the facilities provide prompt response to requests and issues from facility occupants.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. AutoCAD experience would be a plus.
  • Strong computer proficiency skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, PDF.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing the corporate facilities function.
  • Experience in the transportation, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain industry would be positively received.

The position will require travel to Facilities. While travel will be regional, it is expected to be around 40-50%.
