Refinery Value Chain Optimization has an opening for the position of Regional Value Chain Optimization Advisor supporting the Midwest Region. This position will report to the Regional Planning Manager. The candidate must have the ability to work in a team setting with a wide variety of professionals and handle multiple priorities and requests in a professional and courteous manner. The candidate will bring a positive attitude, will be highly motivated with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and will have the ability to distill complex concepts into a concise narrative required for stakeholder alignment and engagement.
This role is graded at a 12-13. This position grade may vary depending on candidate experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Commercial and Refining organizations in the development and execution of Regional Value Chain operating plans to maximize value to MPC
- Assist in the development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of various modeling and optimization tools and processes, including lookback and post-audit tools and processes
- Utilize optimization tools and processes to collaborate in cross-organizational teams to optimize feedstock selection, logistics, operating plans, and product distribution and placement
- Develop an in-depth of understanding of regional value drivers, and optimization mechanisms across the value chain
- Coordinate the development of the five-year business plan material balance
- Coordinate with GFVC, CPVC, Refining, HP&P, and other relevant organizations to ensure short- and medium-term operating objectives and plans are aligned
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of five (5) years post-degree experience in Technical Services or Economics & Planning preferred.
- Previous LP modeling experience is preferred.
Location:
- For external candidates, the location of opening is Findlay, OH
- For internal candidates, the location of opening is Various (Findlay, Canton, Catlettsburg, Detroit, Robinson, Saint Paul Park, Mandan) depending on current location.
- If a candidate is located outside of one of those locations, role will be based in Findlay.
