The Recycler is responsible to assist production by emptying barrels, bales up paper, cardboard, plastic and maintain the trash area in a safe and clean environment.

Job Functions

Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine checks in the compactor area and maintain area in a safe and clean manner.
  • Responsible to empty hoppers and ensure they are both cool and thawed.
  • Assist employees in emptying barrels and tubs.
  • Communicate with all shifts, issues relating to recycle.
  • Ensure policies and guidelines for recycling are followed.
  • Notify parts room to have compactor picked up when full.
  • Responsible that all recycling bins are marked and filled correctly.
  • Responsible for baling and transporting paper, plastic and cardboard in the required manner.
  • Ensure that squeegees, brooms and shovels are clean and kept in the designated area.
  • Routine trips to the line to check for tubs that need to be emptied.
  • Operate the forklift.
  • Perform sanitation on assigned equipment and work area.
  • Follow proper safety and GMP guidelines.

Other Job Duties:

  • Work area will be maintained in a safe and clean environment.
  • Coordinate work duties with Production Supervisor when there is down time.
  • Other duties as assigned by your Production Supervisor.

Job Qualification Requirements

Mental Aptitude

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong ability to work independently or/and with others.

Skill and Knowledge

  • 1 to 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting operating machinery preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation on designated equipment.
  • Maintain equipment re-certification as required.
  • Maintain Forklift re-certification.
  • Must be computer literate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.01 per hour
