Mosebach Manufacturing Company, a well-established electrical power equipment manufacturer, based in the South Hills of Pittsburgh is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Quality Control Inspector with a desire to contribute to the strength of our team! Successful candidates will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and making contributions to both a team and individual environment.

The ideal candidate must be able to train during daylight hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm) before moving permanently to the 3rd/Overnight shift (Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 pm – 6:30 am).

THE CAREER

  • Follow established work instructions to inspect, test, and verify design parameters of manufactured products and incoming material.
  • Inspect and conduct visual review of in-process and finished manufactured products using mechanical drawings; Measure and test in-process and finished manufactured products using electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Document and report test results of electrical and mechanical measurements of equipment utilizing QC Tester program or standard test sheets.
  • Inspect, conduct visual review, and approve incoming materials using engineering drawings or standards; Measure and test incoming materials using electrical and mechanical test equipment; and segregate and reject non-conforming material and product.
  • Document and report test results of electrical and mechanical measurements of incoming material on standard test sheets or computer-generated test programs.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following Company work instructions, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform Assembler responsibilities and duties when required by business needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Specialized Technology or Engineering Technology highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in assembling or troubleshooting electro-mechanical products required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to convey information tactfully and effectively to all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Ability to receive and understand work instructions in a written or verbal format.
  • Ability to use micro-ohm meters, high potential testers, multi-meters, tong testers, and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use standard mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Ability to use basic “click and print” software programs.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to offer innovative solutions.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, using time wisely and productively.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of standing for extended periods of time, frequently stooping or kneeling and reaching, and carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Must pass a pre-employment skills test applicable to the Inspector role.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test.

Mosebach Manufacturing Company is a union employer. The hired candidate must join the IAM Local Lodge 52 after 90 days of employment and pay dues pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
