Position Overview:

We are looking for an outstanding Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to be involved in leading the development of an automated testing framework for our products and help guide the direction of all Quality Assurance at the company. This position will be teamed with one other QA team member and 10+ developers in a fast-paced, agile environment.

This role is on-site full-time in Charlottesville, VA. If you are outside of this area, you will need to relocate and relocation assistance is available.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test automation systems and test scripts.
  • Interface with DevOps and Engineering to resolve issues and deploy releases.
  • Provide input on functional requirements and potential problems.
  • Ensure full lifecycle testing including integration, regression, and stress tests.
  • Design, document, execute and maintain test plans, scenarios, use cases, scripts, and procedures.
  • Document software defects using Jira.
  • Find and report defects and issues to Engineering and Creative Departments.
  • Help investigate Field and Customer problems as needed.
  • Monitor bug remediation efforts and work with all teams involved to get defect.
  • Perform on-site testing on custom hardware.
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve quality processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on quality needs.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years as a QA Automation Engineer, SDET, QA Lead, similar QA automation, or development role.
  • Experience automating tests in an object-oriented language.
  • Understanding of the Page Object Model and Object Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Successful experience with manual and automated testing processes.
  • Able to embrace and excel in a small company environment that may require effort outside of your typical role.
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum processes and the SDLC.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Business Driven Development (BDD) tools. (Cucumber, Specflow, etc.)
  • The ability to demonstrate web automation experience with Selenium, Robot Framework, Cypress.io, or a similar tool.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in information systems or computer science) or equivalent relevant experience. (Equivalent experience in lieu of education = 2 years of experience may be substituted for 1 year of education, with a minimum of a high school diploma).
  • Experience working with C#, ASP.Net MVC, WPF, Flash, Windows embedded standard 7, and Windows Server 2016.
