Purchasing Coordinator Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred

  • 2 years of experience in a purchasing role

  • Solid understanding of supply chain

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs

  • A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills

  • Effective organizational, stress, and time management skills

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.

  • First Aid and CPR Certification.

SKILLS, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoices into accounting software.

  • Coordinate with vendors and assist to recover all overdue payments.

  • Maintain purchasing files.

  • Process purchase orders in a timely manner.

  • Evaluate pricing.

  • Request W9s for new vendors

  • Initiating Purchase Requests (PRs)

  • Fulfillment of pending Purchase Requests and converting to Purchase Orders (POs).

  • Tracking PO’s and ensure timely delivery

  • Update purchasing software with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, prices, discounts, taxes, and shipping and handling)

  • Maintain updated records of quotes, purchase orders and packing lists

  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders

  • Inspect deliveries to ensure all products arrive in good condition and complete

  • Packaging, coordinating pickup, and shipping packages

  • Assist Business Manager and accounting staff with various purchasing related inquiries.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Leman Academy offers a very competitive benefits package and overall compensation will be commensurate with talent, experience and education.

Location: Tucson, AZ

Job Type: Part-time (Approximately 20-25 hours per week)

Pay: $16 - $18 hourly
