We are seeking a PSYCHIATRIST to become a part of our team! You will provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including prescribing and administering medications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and prescribing medications for
• psychiatric diagnosis in accordance to most recent guidelines
• Handle psychiatric emergencies, including mental health hold evaluations and court evaluations.
• Supervise and provide necessary medical services of psychiatric clients. Primary and/or non-psychiatric medical care will be referred to appropriate sources.
• Oversee the mental health counseling program with supervisor case management.
• Participates and daily huddles to assess needs and coordinate services
• Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
• Orders labs and medications (e-scripts) and electronically documents in a timely manner within the organizations electronic health record system.
• Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an Accredited University or College.
• Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Texas, Board Certified.
• 2 year of paid work history in the behavioral health and/or medical field; However, new graduates highly encouraged to apply.
• Experience working in primary care or family practice setting, preferred.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• No recent negative findings on National Provider Database or Texas Licensing Board.

Working Conditions

• The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.
• Must be willing to travel to Greenpoint and Conroe Health Centers
