Job Summary
The Project Manager will assist the Director of Construction in managing the park construction process and attraction installations for new park openings. The PM will work alongside selected GC’s and Franchisees to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met in a timely manner. This position will work closely with the Onboarding Project Managers and Associate Project Manager to ensure that all aspects of construction and attractions maintain brand standards.
This role will also provide support for renovations of existing parks and will be responsible for guiding Franchisees through every step in the process of renovating and updating their existing Urban Air Parks; reviewing scope of work, monitoring project plans and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. The PM will coordinate with the franchisee, their selected design and construction vendor and attraction vendors to ensure that each park is upgraded to brand specifications on-schedule and within the required regulatory entitlements for the local community.
The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study. This is a primarily on-site position at our home office located in Bedford, TX. Candidates should be available to travel up to 30%.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the construction process for new Park locations, working with Franchisee and the General Contractor to adhere to brand standards, park design and construction schedule.
  • Manage renovation/upgrade projects for existing Park locations, working with Franchisee to define project scope and strategies to maximize Park potential and Operations to ensure Park maintains brands standards.
  • Assist Director of Construction with management of the attraction installation projects related to new park openings.
  • Support Director of Construction with monitoring and reporting of construction projects related to new Park Openings.
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, systems.
  • Perform End of Build inspections for attraction installations
  • Ensure project deadlines are met & identify project changes.
  • Communicate to entire project team the project status and challenges.
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
  • Monitor Franchisee and Vendor adherence to project timelines and remove obstacles to completing critical steps to project completion.
  • Ability to understand ASTM standards and ensure projects adhere to standards.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projects. Highly detailed and process oriented.
  • Strong customer service commitment.
  • Assumes Responsibility - self-starter with willingness to interact as a team player and take independent initiative.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of active project management experience, PMP certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Clear and effective communication across all media (face to face, by phone, in writing) with people at various levels whether internal or external to the company, including Franchisees. Ability to partner well with cross functional departments.
  • Highly respectful towards the team, franchise owners and vendor-partners
  • Strong multi-tasking skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Likes an independent working environment with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to work on tight deadlines and flex priorities as issues arise.
  • Understanding of architectural plans, construction materials and processes.
  • Strong technical/general computer skills. Comfortable in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & MS Project), and SmartSheet.
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures
  • Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and CAD knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
