Job Function: Own and manage the product portfolio for multiple customers. Act as the internal voice of the customer and liaison between sales, R&D, operations and back to the customer. Work with customers to lead the design, development, and implement production of new products and changes to existing products. To include portfolios from project concept to the first run in production and manage the internal aspects of their business with Bradford.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead/Manage New Product Design and Implementation

  • In conjunction with Bradford Sales, R&D and Operations, work with our customers to design formulations that will meet customer needs while being capable of running efficiently in the plant
  • Work with the Application Lab and create lab request profile to produce samples for customer review/approval. Will need to be hands on preparing samples for shipment to the customer.
  • Work with R&D and Supply Chain to provide Ingredient Lists and other Regulatory documentation as needed
  • Work with customers to select product sizes/shapes and follow through on the procurement of press dies when needed
  • Work with R&D and Operations to research various tooling, bases, and additive options for new customers and existing customer line extensions.
  • Consult with outside raw material vendors for customer requested additives or fragrances, request samples, pricing and regulatory information as needed
  • Work with our Packaging Engineer to design wraps, unit cartons, bundles, inner packaging, and shippers as well as associated vendor tooling required to produce
  • Implement labeling requirements
  • Manage customer purchase orders for dies, vendor tooling, packaging set up costs and product samples
  • Initiate and coordinate the product costing/pricing process working with Finance, Sales and outside vendors for quotes to finalize new product pricing and/or changes to existing product line costs
  • Lead the ERP data setup required for production (Items, BOMs, Routings, Etc)
  • Work with Product Launch Engineer to setup Production Trials as needed
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on material requirements for trials and first production runs
  • Work with the customer and various departments as needed to resolve trial/production issues found.
  • Responsible for the successful design and launch of new products from concept to production.
  • Scale up and activate new and revised formulations for production
  • Review product specs from customers to ensure all changes are captured

Lead/Manage Existing Product Changes

  • Work with our customers and various internal departments to lead changes to existing customer products
  • Ensure alignment between our customers, sales, supply chain, and operations on timing and execution of changes.
  • Ensure ERP changes are made and verified
  • Work with Supply Chain to identify any material liabilities that may be incurred by the customer for product changes

Customer Production Status and Communications

  • For larger customers, provide updates on production timing and issues for their purchase orders.
  • Act both as the internal “voice of the customer” but also as the “voice of Bradford” back to the customer when needed involving Sales as needed for escalation.
  • Work in tandem with the Sales Team
  • Should be knowledgeable of the situation with assigned customers, whether new projects or existing business always.

General

  • Prepare and process Standard Operating Procedures for the departments as required or requested.
  • Prepare reports as needed.
  • Integrate technology into processes to create efficiencies and foster open lines of communication, including Oracle, Loftware, Formulator, Visual Warehouse and other systems as adopted for standard business practices.
  • Interact with Customer Portals as needed
  • Additional duties, projects and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a Technology related discipline and 2+ years of related experience or 8+ years combined experience in manufacturing, production and customer service.
  • Previous experience with Project Management of complex projects preferred
  • PMI Certification is preferred but not required
  • Willingness and capability to take Responsibility, take Ownership, and to Lead
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and perform individual tasks
  • Good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Customer service and/or production/manufacturing experience helpful.
  • Attention to details and able to work in a team atmosphere with multiple departments.
  • Must be able to adapt to constant change.
  • Capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Previous Oracle ERP experience helpful

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • This is a salaried position.
  • Walking to multiple buildings is required
  • Some lifting will be required
  • Ability to walk up and down multiple flights of narrow stairways
