Experienced clinical laboratory professional to coordinate laboratory testing activities at the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) to support the Nebraska state Department of Health and Human Services (NE-DHHS), Regional Pathology Services (RPS), local health departments, and other healthcare providers. Coordinate special projects conducted within NPHL working alongside the directors, managers and technical staff.

  • Requires knowledge and understanding of administrative and office policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Functional knowledge of laboratory test menus and specimen handling including collection systems, specimen storage and specimen viability.
  • Good team player with well-developed interpersonal, organizational, mentoring and communication skills, including written documentation and presentation skills. Must possess good proofreading and editing skills of technical documents

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree

Biology or other scientific field of study, information technology (IT) with a subspecialty of LIS or bioinformatics, or business management.

Preferred Experience:
More than 4 years’ experience in areas of laboratory science and/or IT.
Experience in local, state and/or national health programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously, while interacting with clients using the NPHL resources.
