POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently hiring for an experienced and highly skilled Pet Groomer. This is a commission-based position. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing a wide range of tasks related to grooming dogs. A successful candidate will be someone who not only embraces our culture, but is a team player, is self-motivated, is open to different ideas, will provide suggestions on improving current processes, has excellent communication skills with both their team members and pet parents and has a great attention to detail. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all dogs in your care receive grooming services that are of a professional quality and meet or exceeds the client’s request without compromising the pet’s physical or emotional health and well-being. Please note, that the groomer is responsible for providing their own set of grooming tools, including shears, clippers, and hand tools. Camp Bow Wow® Liberty will provide other equipment such as a grooming table, dryers, shampoos, etc.

Job Description:

· Ability to provide breed specific standard grooms and perform additional grooming services, including but not limited to bathing, brushing/blowouts, nail trims, pad trims, ear and teeth cleaning, gland expressions and other services as needed.

· Provide an overall positive experience for the dogs as they are being groomed, including compassion, gentleness, reassurance, safety and comfort.

· Develop long term relationships with pet parents by meeting with them to discuss grooming instructions after assessing the dog’s coat and overall condition.

· Communicate with the pet parents to ensure that they are 100% satisfied with the quality of the groom or work to resolve any remaining issues to the best of your ability.

· Suggest additional services or products that would be beneficial to the client.

· Clean and disinfect the groom room, all grooming equipment, holding cabins, and properly maintain all personal grooming tools to ensure quality grooms.

· Monitor and report any health issues or unusual concerns to management and the pet parent.

· Follow all safety standards and practices when dealing with dogs that have behavioral or aggressive issues.

· Engage and communicate with the CBWL team to work with them on scheduling appointments and ensuring that information has been communicated to our pet parents.

· Will need to participate in community outreach to attract new customers to the business and promote our grooming services.

Qualifications for Position:

· High School Diploma or GED and over the age of 16.

· Have 1 or more years of professional grooming experience with formal training certification and/or training experience under an established groomer.

· Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts and how to use proper scissoring techniques.

· Must have patience and compassion towards the pets and have a professional demeanor with our pet parents.

· Should have a cheerful, friendly, positive team-oriented attitude.

· Strong attention to detail and have PC computer knowledge with the ability to work with web-based applications.

· Ability to move or lift pets, merchandise and equipment weighing up to 50lbs.

· Should be able to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.

· Candidates should have a flexible schedule and be willing to work after 5:00pm, weekends and holidays if necessary.

· Need to be reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.

· Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned if necessary.

· All candidates may be required to pass a drug and background check.

· Will need to provide two client references for work performed.

· Provide a photo portfolio of your most recent grooming work showing various breeds of dogs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
