Production Supervisor Job at Glanbia Foods
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading, organizing, training, and developing Production employees using metrics in a Continuous Improvement environment for all lines and plant operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform first level Leadership providing support, coaching, and direction to the Manufacturing work team.
Provide the Business and Technical Leadership necessary to achieve or exceed metrics in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Cost Management.
Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment of problem solving and continuous improvement.
Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, business areas, and functional areas.
Ensure policies and procedures are being followed in a consistent manner.
Report production on a daily basis.
Write procedures and SOP’s and is instrumental in the implementation and training of the procedures, both new and existing.
Responsible for quality and quantity of production output, and employee training, and skills assessment/development.
Interface in Collaboration with Quality Control, Accounting, Marketing, and R&D departments.
Ensure plant personnel practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Bachelor degree preferred
Experience Required:
Minimum 2-3 years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant
Knowledge of the Position:
Experience managing Continuous Improvement through manufacturing metrics (MES/5S/OEE/LEAN MANUFACTURING)
Knowledge and Experience with Food Production Equipment.
Experience in food and/or consumer products environment.
Advanced knowledge of GMP/HACCP
Abilities for the Position:
Ability to facilitate work teams
Ability to manage and develop team members
