Torrance Casting - Production General Laborer
Earn up to $1,600 per week working as a Production General Laborer!!
Founded in 1876, Torrance Casting is a family-owned, 6th generation, metal casting facility located in La Crosse, WI. Torrance is a premier provider of gray, ductile, and ni-hard castings to many industries throughout the USA. Join our production team as a Production General Laborer working in a variety of areas in the plant including Grinding, Pouring labor, Wedge/Cutoff, and Shakeout.
What you will do working as a General Laborer:
- Operate a stand grinding wheel and various hand tools to deburr iron castings
- Use physical strength to push and place molds on the pouring deck; use hoists to lift and lower weights onto molds
- Use physical strength to remove hot castings from the conveyor to bin or palletize
- Use power tools
- Set up and operate machinery
- Use a computer to record work activity
- Keep areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
- Locate, Read, Understand, and Follow job process instructions.
- Follow standard safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Consistent attendance and arrives on time
- Adheres to safe work practices
- Produce quality work
- Ability to work alone or in a team
- Ability to understand, read, and follow process sheets
Physical Job requirements of General Laborer:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight (25-50lbs) frequently
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy weight (50+ lbs) sometimes
- Must be able to stand, walk, and squat continuously for 10 hours
- Must be able to bend/stoop, turn/pivot frequently

- 1st shift: 4a - 2p
- 2nd shift: 2p -12a (additional shift premium of $1/hr)
