IAA, Inc. is looking for a talented Product Owner to join the team at our Corporate Headquarters in Westchester, IL. This role is responsible for compiling and using relevant research methodologies to gather information needed for our Loan Payoff product offering that connects insurance companies with lien holders to secure vehicle titles. Conduct product and application review meetings with business partners, to define, help guide, and create new functions and services to meet internal and external customer demands. This position represents business and is essential in influencing and collaborating between all functions..

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to the following):

Job Description:

  • A strong advocate for the customer and product by using data to drive decisions while being obsessed with solving problems effectively. This includes using perspective from both customers and business to meet business and financial objectives
  • Engages with customer, team and the wider organization to show ongoing product value and success
  • Is sensitive to rapidly evolving issues that arise among products and platforms (between Insurance companies and lenders) in a way that balances their product needs with enterprise goals
  • Understands and utilizes design thinking
  • Engages business units and enterprise management on resolving trade-offs of scope, priority, business and technical risk, and business impact of dependencies among multiple products.
  • Embeds with product teams as needed to ensure full transparency and no surprises, keeping product stakeholders up to date with the latest on delivery status, product risks, and scope changes
  • Is obsessed with product quality, staying deeply immersed in product deliverables and releases

Business Management:

  • Establish and maintain a relationship with the key business and technology stakeholders
  • Research and understand competitive features in the marketplace and propose tactics to manage any competitive threats or take advantage of any opportunities. Collaborate with business stakeholders and lead Enterprise reporting and Advanced data analytics efforts from a Product Management perspective
  • Ensure all required details and data are provided to the scrum team and Project Managers for successful deliverables.
  • Work within the project budget
  • Prioritize IT development project requests to maximize market impact and business unit responsiveness based on stakeholder feedback
  • Continually monitor and refine the product while in the market

Product Delivery Management:

  • Engages with customer, team and the wider organization to show ongoing product value and success by defining epics and stories, and their success criteria
  • Develop, maintain and communicate vision details
  • Collaborate and coordinate closely with stakeholders and others teams including but not limited to: business strategy, delivery teams, UI/UX, etc.
  • Is responsible for iteration goals and delivery of value to the customer
  • Understands application usage with the use of key KPIs and metrics
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is considered

Project Product Owner:

  • Drive the project delivery from a product perspective immediately after prioritization
  • Execute projects based on priority
  • Coordinate delivery with corresponding product owners
  • Work within project budget by appropriately managing scope
  • Drive project schedule with the assistance of the project manager
  • Communicate status to stakeholders


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in experience is required.
  • 5 years of experience managing customer’s needs and delivering upon expectations in a business or IT role with internal and external customers.
  • Three or more years in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities across business and IT, although a business-only career is acceptable if business roles included sufficient technology focus to equip the candidate to communicate effectively with delivery teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in engaging executives and other stakeholders to support important business decisions.
  • Understanding of and experience with Agile, design thinking, and lean
  • More than 3 years working in or with lean and agile software delivery teams preferred
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Detailed knowledge of the following industries is also preferred: salvage and/or wholesale vehicle auction/equipment operations or vehicle re-marketing services.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
