Produce Quality Inspector Job at Quality First Inspection (QFI)
Perform produce inspections from inbound and outbound trailers at designated cold storage warehouses in New Jersey.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily quality / quantity inspections of packaged fruits on pallets from inbound trailers to designated cold storage warehouses in Salem (Pedricktown) and Cumberland County (Vineland) in New Jersey.
- Verify purchase order and oversee proper loading on all outbound deliveries.
- Communicate daily with warehouse supervisor on all product and warehouse issues.
- Take photos of fruits and forward quality results via email to Management using an iPad.
- Recommend decision to accept or reject fruits at receiving and ensure appropriate processes are followed that are consistent with PACA laws when rejecting commodities.
- Ensure proper cold storage temperature and rotation of all produce inventory.
- Make recommendations on repacking fruits to maintain high quality.
- QFI will provide on-site training.
- Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous 2 years experience working in cold storage warehouse or produce repacking.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to execute independent judgment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated high work ethic in terms of reporting to work on time, honesty, and trustworthiness.
- Bilingual candidates a plus.
