CP is seeking an experienced Process Technician. This is NOT a starting position.


Hours are Monday - Friday.
  • 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) - Shift differential = $1.00
  • 3rd shift (11pm - 7am) - Shift differential = $1.50


IDEAL CANDIDATE
: will have experience working in a Manufacturing environment, preferable with plastics injection molding machines or medical device manufacturing

BASIC FUNCTIONS
  • To provide the necessary leadership to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the quality and productivity of the employees reporting to the position
  • To set up production runs, including the installation and set up of the dies and the machine adjustments that assure quality and efficient production.
  • To provide general housekeeping and machine and equipment cleaning
  • To provide training for new process techs or continued training for current employees

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of computer software programs (Excel, Word), OSHA regulations and standards, ISO 9001:2015.
  • 3+ years of experience with injection molding process.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge/skill in following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, process water systems.
  • Troubleshooting and math skills.
  • Microsoft Office, working knowledge of ERP system, and/or IQMS is a plus.
  • HS degree (post high school course work, AS degree, or trade school preferred) or/and 7+ years.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

› This position will require ongoing walking, sitting, standing and handling of production piece parts.
› Lifting of product, boxes, skids is required.
› The individual must be able to work under the pressure of time. Multi task oriented and ability to work
with teams or to be self-governed. Must have tools to perform given task to set up all molding equipment, tools or machines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
› This position will work both in the office, as well as in the production areas.
› There may be exposure to noise, dust and fumes in the production areas
› Commercial Plastics is not a climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Working in elevated heat
conditions may be required.

AUTHORITIES
:
› Enforcement of the Company’s work rules, including the issuance of verbal and first written warnings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
› Maintenance and upkeep of the machines, tools, and equipment in their assigned cells.
› Productivity and efficiency on their assigned presses
› Quality of the products produced from their assigned presses
› Accurate and complete document completion of job-related documentation
› Accurate and timely completion of employee training and related documents


TASKS AND DUTIES:

› Reduce machine down-time by overseeing adherence to preventative maintenance schedule.
› Manage communication and document flow to all Shift Supervisors and incoming Process Technicians, regarding process, setup, and maintenance.
› Verify assigned area is prepared with supplies; including but not limited to, material, pallets/skids, auxiliary equipment, packaging material, or additional tools needed to complete set ups.
› Approve start up and first part approval, monitor quality of production throughout the shift.
› Verify the last shot is pulled before starting up a press. Notify Quality if needed.
› Ensure that all aspects of production functions smoothly to meet customer requirements and
expectations while meeting the company’s expected daily productivity goals and schedule. Address any production issues with the appropriate department.
› Efficiently take action in overall maintenance process when repairs are necessary, if capable.
› Contributes to major projects such as facility modifications, machine/mold installations etc.
› Notifying Shift Supervisor when there is access scrap. (Only the Shift Supervisor has the authority to shut down a press regarding Quality concerns.)
› Participate in ensuring total facility and manufacturing, safety, and housekeeping regulations.
› Operate the forklift and pallet jacks safely and successfully, when necessary.
› Competent in utilizing in-house control system, IQMS, daily. (ie.: schedule)
› Use a variety of hand and bench tools and processing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
› Follows work instructions, process books and Quality procedure for performance.
› Ensure all documentation is completed consistently, accurately and timely on an on-going basis.
› All other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor.


Monday - Friday
1st Shift 7am - 3pm
2nd Shift 3pm - 11pm ($1.00 shift differential)
3rd Shift 11pm - 7am ($1.50 shift differential)
