Currently, Geico Tech is seeking a motivated, mission and customer-oriented Engineer to lead a highly visible and critical team responsible for driving Availability and Reliability Improvements. You will be part of a team of analytics engineers focused on understanding, discovering, recommending, and collaborating to address availability or reliability concerns across GEICO Tech Tier-1 systems. you will develop strategy, approach, and implement data collection methods then pour of data to identify patterns of systemic issues, research causes, present findings and recommend solutions to senior leadership.

In this role you will lead high profile research and analytics projects working closely with the Operations, Reliability, Technology, Product Management, and others across multiple divisions and teams. You must be comfortable in a fast-paced, unpredictable, and sometimes ambiguous environment working with current and emerging issues as part of the Correction of Error or Problem Management scope. The assignments will include gathering data from multiple sources, data processing, exploratory data analysis, measurement, unstructured data analysis, predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, interpretation of findings, presentation, and system implementation. You will be capable of supporting projects across many areas with the highest degree of quality. They will have a proven record of assuring quality of data gathering and analysis, be a team player who thrives in a high performing work environment and acts with confidence to communicate to all levels.

As a primary Engineer, you will work with a talented and diverse team of engineers with the responsibility to:

  • Leads collaborations with cross departmental teams to define metrics, formulate strategies, and develop solutions to drive business value through effective use of data and statistical and machine learning models.
  • Leads identification, extraction, aggregation, and synthesis of data in a variety of structured and unstructured formats to enable analysis, model development, and solution deployment.
  • Lead the analyzation of large, complex datasets and IDENTIFIES meaningful patterns and features that lead to actionable insights and support data-driven solutions to system problems.
  • Conducts data studies and data discovery of new data sources or new uses for existing data sources to create value.
  • Leads the assessment of long-term strategic goals and specific opportunities for business intelligence and automated solution development in conjunction with Business Partners, Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Researches and implements hardware, software, and statistical and machine learning methods to increase the quality and efficiency of solution development and promote best practices.
  • Meets attendance standard of the business location, to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.
  • Develop guidelines for the evaluation of new analytical tools and platforms.
  • Present reports and findings to senior level technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications:

  • Must have advance Data analysis and Business Intelligence expertise including Power BI, Synapse and/or Snowflake.
  • An ability to write object-oriented solutions and to package together and streamline existing models is preferred.
  • Solid verbal communication, presentation, and business/industry/scientific technical writing skills with an ability to explain complex data science, statistics, and computer science concepts clearly for a nontechnical audience, comfortable interacting with various levels of management from different functions.
  • Proficiency in information design with the ability to present and visualize data to foster efficient and effective understanding of the information.
  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information, and to follow published standards and processes.
  • Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
  • Must be knowledgeable of infrastructure tools and management techniques and able to follow standards and processes that have been published
  • A hunger to dig into uncharted territory and make a huge impact
  • BA/BS required in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related STEM disciplines with disciplines with 2-5 years relevant professional experience.

$100,000.00 - $236,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
