Mulberry’s small child to adult ratio, which includes a devoted parent body, allows children 2-5 years old to fully explore our expansive campus. You are a strong team player with a passion for working with young children.

As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for planning and supervising the daily program and for acting as a resource for parents. Your shared responsibility and overall duty is to monitor day-to day activities within the preschool to ensure an efficient and effective positive discipline program that meets the needs of the students and parents.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, which must include those required by state licensing.
  • Must have a minimum of one-year practical experience in a licensed preschool program.
  • Enjoy working with children and being able to relate to them in a warm and sensitive way.
  • Must have the physical stamina needed so required duties can be successfully completed.

Responsibilities:

1. For Children:

  • Collaborate with other preschool teachers to plan appropriate activities designed to support development in the areas of social, emotional, intellectual, and physical (sensory and perceptual motor) growth.
  • Responsible for children’s safety and well-being at the school.
  • Evaluate and document children's growth.

2. To School and Staff:

Help to create a vibrant curriculum with the other Preschool Teachers and Director. Report to the Preschool Director to discuss program materials and individual children’s needs.

  • Cooperate in a professional manner with other staff members in formulating and developing curriculum and procedures.
  • Attend orientation meetings, general meetings, and staff development meetings.
  • Professionally represent Mulberry School in the community.
  • Take the PAT (Positive Parenting) Class.

3. Other Duties:

  • Maintain the preschool rooms, making sure all materials are put away and the room is left clean for the next class.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Continue professional growth by attending workshops, classes, and conferences when possible.
  • Attend school functions and events.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Employee Handbook

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
We have an extremely well-rounded Safety Plan. We were one of the 3 schools to receive a waiver in Santa Clara County to reopen. We have been teaching and learning in person since September 2020.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Los Gatos, CA 95032: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
