Position Summary:

Provides a high quality service to our residents, guests, and staff. Participates in all aspects of food production in accordance with the daily menu planner, using standardized recipes in a timely manner. In addition follows all cleaning and sanitization procedures to maintains kitchen equipments and supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Preps and serves meals.
  • Receives, rotates, and maintains inventory of products.
  • Keeps compliance with all record keeping.
  • Prepares food in accordance with menus, diet specifications, ensuring all special dietary needs are met and prepares texture modified food as directed, and resident preferences.
  • Follows a menu to prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, gravies, soups, vegetables and other foods according to proper preparation methods.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for general cleaning, washing dishes, pots and pans, mopping and sweeping of kitchen area.
  • Maintains proper kitchen sanitation for the whole area, removing trash and general kitchen tasks.
  • Provides cooks and food servers with clean cooking utensils and service ware for the guests.
  • Maintains knowledge of the maintenance of service ware, and proper handling of china and glassware.
  • Assists fellow staff members in taking beverage order and, and demonstrates knowledge of menu items, provide excellent service according to service standard.
  • Informs Lead Dining Captain or Chef problems arise with a guest.
  • Maintains kitchen floor free of debris and liquid at all times.
  • Maintains chemical par level for operation.
  • Prepares 3 compartment sink according to sanitation standards.
  • Uses proper technique to load and unload dishwasher.
  • Makes sure that the dishwasher machine is cleaning properly, reaching proper sanitizing temperature.
  • Keeps and maintains a clean workstation at all times.
  • Cleans all drains.
  • Buses the plates, glasses and silver ware.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
  • Performs all duties in adherence to Spring Hills, LLC standards.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Spring Hills, LLC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience And Education:

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); 1 plus years experience, or an equivalent of education and experience; culinary degree a plus. May be required to obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates
