Cook/Prep Cook

THIRA Health - Bellevue, WA

Prepare and cook meals for patients in behavioral health facility. Will also be responsible for any necessary prep work.

Shifts Available:

Job Duties

• Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the THIRA recipes.
• Follow portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.
• Prepare all recipes, portion controls and presentation as directed in a timely manner
• Edit recipes for production size as needed.
• Restock all items as needed throughout the shift
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of prep kitchen, walk in coolers and storage areas
• Empty all garbage cans and transport other trash and waste to disposal area at the end of shift
• Help stock food items
• Serve as backup to dishwashing staff as needed
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience, preferably as a line cook or in a healthcare facility preferred
• Effective level of culinary competency with basic knife skills, culinary skills, and knowledge of the operation of all kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow recipes, use kitchen equipment, and
• Food Handlers Card
• Follow guidelines concerning patient services, food, and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times
• Work well with others
• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability follow instructions
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 25-50 pounds.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State)
