POD TECHNICIAN III (Shift Lead DEPLOYED)

This position is for a pod technician in support of a remotely piloted airborne video capturing system in support of military operations overseas. Technical knowledge and maintenance background related to aircraft, avionics, electrical systems, and network support are strongly desired. Should possess working understanding of military aircraft maintenance operations to include documentation, use of technical manuals and blueprints. The schedule is not fixed and would need someone that is flexible with their time.

• Associates degree and at least 8+ years of relevant experience

• Higher level degree may be a substitute for experience

• Related time and experience may be considered in lieu of degree

• Completion of Pod and GSAM technician Level II training.
n
• Designated as a trainer by the FM.
n
• Successful completion of a deployment of the Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) Shift Lead with FM/Site Lead endorsement.
n
• Hold at least one of the following current certifications: Security Plus, Network Plus, Linux Plus, Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification.
n
• Designated as a Required Inspection Item (RII) authority by the FM.
n
• Communications Security (COMSEC) Responsibility Officer or Information System Security Officer (ISSO)-qualified/designated.
n
• Minimum DoD Secret Security Clearance
n
• Be able to lift 30 lbs.
n

Specific Responsibilities of a LRE Shift Lead include:

• Make final determination of GS system status (airborne/ground nodes and support equipment.
n
• Ensure GS Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) team members perform maintenance and operations in accordance with approved procedures.
n
• Ensure all maintenance documentation is correct and complete prior to system launch/tethered mission.
n
• Determine, track, and report system status in a timely manner to Records and Theater Lead and update pass-down accordingly.
n
• Inform Theater Lead and Records of system status updates as required.
n
• Provide Theater Leads required reports.
n
• Track status start and stop times and configuration changes on GS subsystems.
n
• Ensure parts are ordered against pod sets/shelters and track document numbers.
n
• Coordinate required support with external agencies to include military support and other contractors.
n
• Assist in overall maintenance effort.
n
• Follow appropriate procedures when contracting engineering for support.
n
• Ensure all Safety and maintenance procedures are being followed.
n
• Manage deferred discrepancies.
n
