Department Overview

The Cancer and Blood Disorders program at Children's Minnesota provides care for more than 58% of all children, adolescents and young adults (AYAs) diagnosed with cancer or blood disorder in MN and over 75% of those diagnosed in the Twin Cities. We believe our well-coordinated clinical care contributes to our outcomes that are among the best in the country. This position is part of the largest cancer and blood disorders multidisciplinary team in the Upper Midwest which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.

As the largest provider of services for children and AYAs with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorder program focuses on providing well-coordinated, knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children and AYAs with cancer and bleeding disorders.

The Cancer and Blood Disorder program is recruiting an APP with a focus on general hematology and oncology. Scope of the role includes care of patients in both the clinic and hospital setting and an urgent care service within the cancer and blood disorder clinic for both hematology and oncology patients. Expectations includes performing bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture procedures in the clinic and hospital setting.

Schedule: Can choose between 8 hour or 10 hour days. Minimal weekend day rotation after 1 year.


Qualifications:

Current RN & APRN Minnesota License, National Certification. Prescriptive Privileges in State of Minnesota. Master's Degree in Nursing. Current BLS Certification. Chemo/Bio certification required within 30 days of hire. CPHON certification required within one year of hire. Experience with Pediatric Hematology/Oncology patients preferred
