The R. M. Palmer Company, manufacturer of chocolate novelty candy for holidays, celebrations and every day enjoyment since 1948, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to be a PLC Technician at our Wyomissing location. This opportunity exists on our first shift, with hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday. There is the potential to earn $75,000 to $90,000 per year. Overtime (hours 41-48) is paid at time and a half, and hours 49+ are paid at double time.

Ideal applicants will have experience in a food manufacturing environment with wrapping and packaging machinery and will be able to troubleshoot and repair fast paced, automated food processing equipment that have both mechanical and computer based components.

Qualified candidates will have 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, programming, and performing preventive maintenance on food processing equipment with voltages up to 480. Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC-5, RSLogix 500/5000software, SLC 500, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, and CompactLogix systems; Ethernet, Data Highway, DeviceNet, Panelview, and Panelview Plus systems; VFD, 1394 and Kentix motion control systems. Candidates should also possess experience in AC/DC motor control and relay logic.

We are seeking an individual with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have good communication skills and excellent job attendance.
