Ø PLC/Controls:

· Extensive experience with PLC programming; Capable of supporting large, complicated, proprietary PLC programs

· Candidate must have strong troubleshooting skills to resolve both PLC hardware and PLC software related problems

· Candidate has complete understanding of PLC communications/ communication protocols

· Ability to upload, download, and edit PLC programs using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000/ Studio 5000

· Strong knowledge and experience of commissioning systems, performing I/O, Alarm Checkouts, and Functional Device Tests.

· Candidate is capable of troubleshooting applications (typically for Allen Bradley platforms)

Ø Device Networks/Communications:

· Must be able to troubleshoot device networks; including Ethernet, and ethernet devices.

· Ability to set communication protocols and network configurations on network devices

Ø Instrumentation:

· Maintains skills needed to configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot both simple and complex devices to include but not limited to level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and pressure transducers

Ø Electrical:

· Must have strong knowledge of AutoCad Electrical

· Must have strong electrical skills and can troubleshoot controls and relay logic; understands electrical theory and basic calculations

· Candidate can install, wire, and set up electrical components and devices from drawings

Ø Documentation:

· Must be able to read / understand electrical code and electrical schematics

· Ability to search online manufacturer websites to locate technical datasheets for controls devices (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other controls components)

Ø PC Skills:

· Must have strong PC skills with familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMMS programs

· Must have working knowledge of electronic circuitry, electrical and pneumatic schemes, and equipment prints

Ø Responsibilities:

· Our Skilled Controls Tech will be on various project sites in various industries working on different types of equipment. We our very diverse in the projects we work on, so the desired technician should be able to catch on to new applications quickly and efficiently.

· Will need to redline electrical schematics accurately during commissioning

· Will fill out a M.O.C. (Management of Change) before editing any PLC/HMI Logic and has the ability to edit logic in Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 as necessary

· Will work with and support electricians, instrumentation techs, and automation techs during project assignments.

· Use AutoCad Electrical to edit designed electrical schematics during commissioning of projects

· Must work safely at all times

· Will have excellent communication skills when dealing with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.

· Has troubleshooting, problem-solving, critical thinking skills (“Must be able to think outside the box”)

· Accurately completes all required paperwork

· Coordinates project assignments per the Engineering Manager

· Administers and enforces our company standards and safety practices

· Works closely with electrical department to resolve issues

· Provides assistance in scheduling of project assignments as necessary

· Assists with Project Design and Planning

· Participates in meetings

· Fills in for other positions as necessary

· Complies with all safety policies, procedures and good work practices

· Maintains strong troubleshooting skills to resolve both hardware and software related problems with these systems
