ESAB Avenger X Plasma Cutter Operator

Location: Stockton, Ca

Shift: 1st Shift Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: $20.00 DOE

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the ESAB Avenger X Plasma Table
  • Maintain daily work job card with name, employee number, hours, date and job number or description
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Employees may occasionally be asked to perform work on special assignments in addition to “normal” job duties
  • The Company reserves the right to change job responsibilities, transfer job positions, or assign additional job duties at any time
Skill, Supervision, Knowledge and Ability

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Prioritizing and organizational skills a must
  • Must be able complete work independently when feasible and also able to seek out information required completing work when it is not supplied.
  • 2 years related experience and/or equivalent technical training.
  • Direct experience with manufacturing.
  • The standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the trade.
  • The use of both air-powered and manual hand tools and other standard tools and equipment related to the trade.
  • Occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade.
  • Pressurized air procedures and equipment and other standard tools and equipment related to the trade.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Must be a “team player.” This person needs to work closely with other staff members and have the ability to be flexible, adaptive, and positive in his/her interactions.
  • Must work well under limited supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Inventory all tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Must attend work regularly and be on time
Qualifications

These variables are tasks that must be carried out by the employee and are implicitly or explicitly required as objectives of the job:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings.
  • Plan work and make estimates of materials required.
  • Make precise arm-hand positioning movements and maintain static arm-hand position.
  • Make fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of a control mechanism.
  • Make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects.
  • Work above shoulders in cervical extension from a stand, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel to perform repair or fabrication
  • Work in small, cramped areas.
  • Climb ladders or stairs to reach objects.
  • Clean equipment using appropriate materials.
  • Move heavy objects (75 pounds or more) long distances (more than 10 feet).
  • Pushing up to 150 pounds.
  • Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Utilize independent judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Work nights and week end as needed
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Measure distance using a tape measure or other measuring device.
  • Observe or monitor objects to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards.
  • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
  • Walk, stand on concrete floor, asphalt in work yard
  • Reach below, at and above shoulder height
  • Insert hand(s) into confined areas to repair and fabricate
  • Hand, power, and air tool use maybe required
  • Climb, stand, and balance on ladders or the vehicles and equipment
  • Operate hand controls on a five-ton hoist crane
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Perform other assigned tasks
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
  • Must attend work regularly and be on time
Protective Equipment Required:
Steel Toe Shoes = Y Safety Glasses with side shields = Y Hard Hat = N

Gloves = Y* Hearing Protection = Y Mask/Respirator = Y*

Faceshields = Y* Welding Goggle/Hood = Y*
