NEEDED: PHYSICIAN

LOCATION: 3625 FCI Road, Marianna, FL 32446

SCHEDULE / HOURS: 8 Hours per day, Monday - Friday (and weekends as needed), 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., not to exceed 40 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • At a minimum, contract employee must possess at minimum one year experience in related duties.
  • Must be Board Certified or have equivalent experience to be considered an expert in the field of medicine.
  • Must be fully licensed where required by law.
  • Must have an active, unexpired DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) or able to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
  • Must have an active, unexpired X-waiver for MAT/MOUD (Medications for Addiction Treatment /Medication for Opioid Use Disorder) or able to obtain within 3 months.
  • Have and/or obtain knowledge of medical/legal aspects of patient care in a penal environment.
  • Additionally, the individual must have and/or obtain a working knowledge of policy, procedures, and standards prescribed by the AAAHC, Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, American Correctional Association, and the U.S. Courts.
  • Must provide 3 letters of reference.
  • Possess the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Possess good organizations skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work effectively with medical staff.
  • Must pass the required security clearances prior to start date.

RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Perform all duties in accordance with current accepted medical practices and procedures.
  • Perform complete physical examinations.
  • Collect comprehensive medical and social history to include a review of all body systems.
  • Examine and order appropriate diagnostic testing and provide necessary treatment and/or medication as required.
  • Refer selected cases to consultant specialists when necessary.
  • Perform physical assessment in correlation with historical findings and record preliminary objective findings.
  • Administer or directs administration of both curative and preventive inoculations.
  • Prescribes medication, treatment, and fully utilizes health services for treatment and rehabilitative and diagnostic modalities.
  • Renders that proper medical/surgical services are required and may be called on to treat severe trauma cases.
  • Ensure that proper evaluations (Using BOP Treatment Care Guidelines) and treatments are carried out and documented in BEMR.
  • Assure proper maintenance of medical records, preparation of reports, etc., as related to the area of responsibility.
  • Must evaluate an estimate of 12-20 inmates per day based on their acuity.
  • Must complete charting in BEMR on each inmate the same day that the inmate is evaluated and must be performed during normal business hours, if the contract employee is not able to complete the task, then he/she must notify administration 1 hour prior to the end of shift.
  • Will wear appropriate professional attire. No denim, no pastel colors, no red, no orange, no greens, and no khaki.
  • Business attire cannot be tight or form fitting, no patterns, or designs.
