Experienced Emergency Department Physician Assistant to join a team of hospital employed staff at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. This is a tertiary care referral center that is a level 2 trauma center, a primary stroke center, and has hemodialysis, a robust oncology department, palliative care, pediatric sub-specialties, medical sub-specialties, surgical sub-specialties, PICU, NICU, ICU, and CCU support. The ideal candidate will have completed an Emergency Medicine fellowship or has 2-3 years of EM experience.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Emergency Department serves a high-acuity patient population with an EMS volume nearly double the national average. EMMC provides care for over 33,000 patients per year; encompassing all age ranges. An observation area, results pending area, and provider in triage are utilized for patient care.

The Physician Assistant will work closely with board certified Emergency Medicine physicians. Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours long from 7am through 11pm, 365 days per year. The responsibilities of the Physician Assistant will vary, depending on the shift; as some shifts focus on observation medicine while others focus on provider in triage. On all shifts, the Physician Assistant will have the opportunity to primary care for patients while also co-managing other patients with the Emergency Medicine physician.
