Physical Therapist-Early Intervention Specialist Job at Building Blocks EI

Building Blocks EI Washington, DC

$70 - $90 an hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Building Blocks EI is a small, private company that provides SLP, PT, OT, and DT early intervention services to the Birth to 3 population in the District of Columbia’s Strong Start program. We are currently looking for a part‐time Physical Therapist to work primarily with our early intervention population. The Strong Start program works with families in their natural learning environment and services may take place at the family’s home, a local playground or park, or a child’s childcare facility. We work directly with the child’s family or childcare providers in a routines‐based intervention style. We serve all 8 Wards of the District and potential physical therapists should be prepared to drive to various parts of the city.

We are looking for an energetic, flexible provider who enjoys working with our youngest population and who is interested in being part of a team. Our team has regular staff meetings and trainings, and due to the Primary Service Provider model the District follows, has opportunities to collaborate virtually and in person with other professionals (SLP, OT, DT) on our team.

The Physical therapist must have their Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, and a valid DC license to practice(or be in the process to obtain one). Prior experience working with the Birth to 3 population is preferred, but not required. Physical therapist must be prepared to take the required trainings for Strong Start(provided) and be comfortable following the Primary Service Provider model for service provision. Per District regulations, anyone licensed thru the Department of Health must provide proof of up to date vaccination against COVID‐19.
