onehome is looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the San Antonio, Texas area to work for our home health agency on a per-diem basis and cover the South West region. Physical Therapy Assistants are a member of a patient’s treatment plan who help patients recover from the effects of a serious illness, injury, or medical event, regaining their own best level of functional ability, well-being, and independence. They provide support services to improve strength and function, restore more efficient movement, improve flexibility, and aid patients in restoring mobility and improving balance.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

• Assists the Physical Therapist in evaluating the level of function of the patient.
• Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing the physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
• Helps prepare clinical and progress notes.
• Helps administer treatment programs for patients.
• Assists patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prosthesis.
• Participates in case conferences and in-services.
• Complies with all policies and procedures including, but not limited to HIPPA Privacy rule
• Accepts only those assignments for which they are qualified

Skills/Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Licensed/registered in the state for which they are practicing in
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to travel to patients' homes to provide services
