Responsibilities

This position is responsible for authorizing prescription refills and assessing the need for physician follow-up and/or lab work in accordance with physician approved protocols. The pharmacist will make decisions regarding the appropriateness of physician orders for indications, dosages, and routes of administration for all drug therapy. In addition, the pharmacist will advise for the most cost-effective therapy for the prevention of drug related problems and assist in disease state management initiatives.

Qualifications

We require:

  • A Pharm D or B.S. in Pharmacy with relevant practice experience.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of pharmaceutical care.
  • Ability to prepare a patient work-up and retrieve relevant patient and lab data.
  • Excellent pharmacokinetic skills.
- Ability to operate a computer. - Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of drug therapy, monitoring, dosing, and disease treatment.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to attend to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State pharmacy laws.
  • Ability to review and assess medical literature.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Licensure requirements: - A Washington State Board of Pharmacists. - Preceptor license. - 15 hours of Board of Pharmacy approved continuing education credits per year. Preferred: BCPS and DSM certification,completion of a Pharmacy Residence Program and one year related work experience is preferred.

$65.50 - $90.24 /hour
