Operations Building | Hybrid Work from Home (2 days per week in office)

Lynden, WA

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | 40 hours per week

As a Senior Deposit Operations Specialist, you will be very knowledgeable about retail operations policy & procedures. You will be a senior resource for Retail Management, Deposit Operations staff, and other departments for problem resolution. As a Senior Deposit Operations Specialist, you are someone who completes assigned department functions accurately, timely, and with little to no supervision.

Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Performing various deposit operations functions assigned following the standard operating procedures. Functions may include customer and account maintenance, various check-back procedures that may be considered moderate to high risk for the bank, centralized functions like overdraft account management, returned deposited items, processing Canadian items, Retirement, IRS tax reporting, Deposit Bank Control, and other deposit operations functions.
  • Reviewing reports and documentation to ensure the Bank is meeting regulatory and compliance policy and deposit procedures.
  • Supporting the Retail team with operational policy and procedures and some system applications.
  • Acting as an escalation point for deposit system operational issue resolution for branches.
  • Assisting with creating and maintaining clear and concise documentation of department SOP’s for assigned functions.
  • Supporting the Deposit Operations team as a subject matter expert for departmental and operational policy and procedures.
  • Providing high level problem-solving assistance for deposit products and services.
  • Providing support to Retail and other departments via the Department Service Desk. This may include legal documentation review, explaining policy and procedures for better understanding, leading a caller through a transaction remotely and making recommendations for enhancements to Operations Manual.
  • Working with Deposit Operations Management on Annual Business Continuity Plan updating and testing.
  • Supporting Deposit Operations Management in analyzing processes, evaluating alternatives, and implementing solutions to create department efficiencies.
Requirements:

What You Bring to the Team:

  • You have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum of 3-4 years of bank operations experience.
  • You have a high-level knowledge of deposit policies and procedures.
  • You perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You work with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
  • You are skilled at business communication, both verbal and written.
  • You have a strong professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality.
  • You can travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.
  • You have the ability to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision, and Values.
