Position Summary

The People Operations Associate will provide People Operations / Human Resources (HR) support, including coordinating new hire onboarding, maintaining employment records and performing other administrative tasks, to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s People Operations department.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate pre-hire processes for prospective employees including initiating and monitoring background screening and drug testing processes and conducting verification of candidates’ employment history
  • Coordinate onboarding processes including facilitating completion of HR / payroll forms and scheduling orientation and onboarding meetings and tasks with Learning & Development Specialist and Hiring Managers
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding pre-employment screening and onboarding processes; refers more complex questions to appropriate People Operations staff or management.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of employment files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of employment files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides administrative support to the People Operations department.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent HR experience
  • Strong PC skills – proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Human Resources information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of employment law
