Job Summary and Qualifications

The PBX Operator duties include, but are not limited to:

• You will promptly answer all incoming and assist in placing out-going calls,
• You will maintain confidentiality , security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.

Monitoring security and other alarms • You will respond quickly and accurately to disaster and emergency situations as required.

• You will respond to the code phone, code computer and wall panel alarms which takes priority over any calls except the fire alarm and will make sure that appropriate personnel are notified.
• In addition to answering and routing incoming telephone calls, the operator also will assist with covering ER patient registration desk as needed.
• Checks-in patients in a timely manner and greets visitors, family members, and vendors coming into the ER.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Minimum of one (1) year clerical/customer service experience working with the public and telephone contact (required)
• Ability to handle multi-line phone system.
• Good telephone voice, ability to overlap, and cope with pressure and stress.
• Must demonstrate excellent telephone technique and manners.
• Possess the ability to work flexible hours including 7p-7a any day of the week

• Must be kind, calm, patient, and must speak clearly. • Regular punctual, and dependable attendance.
