Patient Financial Services (PFS) Representative supports management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts. The PFS Rep is a weekday only, day shift opportunity. If you have experience in medical billing, this position could be a good fit for you!
This is a part-time opportunity at a 0.5 FTE (40 hours/2 weeks) that is not eligible for benefits. The schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday with two 8-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Show strength in billing and/or collection practices.
- Strive to resolve complex customer service issues.
- Understand the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients
- Responsible for the analysis and processing of correspondence including rejections, requests for medical records, itemized bills, clarification of detail on bill, etc.
- Monitor accounts for timely follow-up and prompt resolution of denials or other complex account resolution.
- Assist in continuously improving the aging of receivables while minimizing controllable loss categories (i.e. Timely filing).
To be qualified for this Revenue Cycle position, you will have 3-5 years of professional experience in an office clerical setting, of which 1 year should be in a hospital or clinic business office. Additional experience in a medical environment is valued. Other qualities that would aid success in this role include: attention to detail, mastery of computer skills, and enthusiasm for learning new IS systems.
