Patient Care Coordinator / Appointment Scheduling Job at The Center For Eye Care And Optical
Full-Time Patient Care Coordinator / Appointment Scheduler needed for busy Ophthalmology practice in West Islip, NY
Candidates should have:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Empathetic personality giving attention to patients needs and concerns
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Respectful treatment of patients
- Knowledge of medical insurance
Responsibilities:
- Answering a high volume of calls in a professional and courteous manner for a multi-provider practice
- Schedule appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler.
- Records when appointments have been filled or canceled.
- Contact patients to confirm appointments
- Obtaining proper information from patients when scheduling appointments such as demographics and insurance information.
- Obtaining all necessary information to facilitate the admission process in an efficient and timely manner.
- Handling both inbound and outbound calls.
- Triaging urgency of patient appointments.
- Routing and transferring patient calls and messages to appropriate staff.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
· Experience as an appointment scheduler / Ophthalmology experience a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Rotating 5 day Schedule including Saturdays | 9-5 / 11-7 during the week / 8-3 Saturdays
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
