THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Equipment Maintenance Manager or Supervisor, the Parts Person will purchase all parts, materials and supplies necessary to support the maintenance functions of the facility.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Sources and procures all parts, materials, and supplies to support the maintenance and repair functions for all company vehicles, heavy landfill equipment and stationary equipment and company facilities.
  • Assures availability of parts for maintenance activities.
  • Acts as point of contact with vendors to source parts in a cost-effective manner, receive and ensure payments for goods and services.
  • Creates purchase orders for all parts and supply needs.
  • Receives, tags, stocks and disperses parts to maintenance staff according to Company Policy and local operating procedures.
  • Maintains inventory control and management including regular cycle counts.
  • Accurately and efficiently completes paperwork and/or computer database entries relating to the work performed, documenting parts and supply usage. Performs other maintenance related work as required by supervisor or foreman.
  • Operate forklift and other yard equipment as required.
  • Performs all work in accordance to company standards and policies and DOT standards for safety.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in accordance with company policy and federal, state and local requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

  • One year of experience in a maintenance facility with heavy vehicles preferred.
  • Waste and recycling industry experience preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service Criteria including CHP B.I.T. Inspections and DOT compliance audits preferred.
  • Experience working in a maintenance facility or related environment with vehicles, processing equipment such as: balers, conveyors, hoppers, electric motors and landfill equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge inventory management and control processes.
  • Knowledge purchasing process for maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
  • Basic computer programs.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.

THE ROLE

The Buy-Back Attendant is the first point of contact to greet, and assist customers with their recyclable materials.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Greet visitors in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Receive and weigh recyclable materials, such as glass, aluminum and plastic.
  • Calculate payment for materials at established prices, and provide receipt.
  • Maintain proper records of materials and amounts purchased.
  • Instruct visitors regarding proper handling and bundling of recyclable materials.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and Recology’s policies.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
  • Report problems immediately to supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
  • Basic math and recordkeeping skills required.
  • Some forklift experience, forklift certification is preferred.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of common collection procedures.
