Addison Group, in partnership with our entertainment client in the East San Fernando Valley area, seeks a Participations Manager to join their team.
Job – The Participations Manager will manage and supervise all participations and residual operations. You will report to a Director of Participations.
Job Site Status (Onsite/Hybrid/Remote) – Our client has a hybrid schedule (four (4) days/week).

Compensation/Benefits – Salary range begins at $110,000/year and increases DOE. Our client supplements base compensation with the usual health insurance, PTO days off, and a supplemental bonus.
DUTIES OF THE PARTICIPATIONS MANAGER
Participations and Residuals Administration
Participations Preparation
- Prepare, review, and manage participation statements and processes
- Forecast, set-up, pay and report residual liabilities
- Work with Production Finance to gather required information for residual setup
- Apply Guild agreements by cooperating with unions on calculation requirements and issues
- Manage accounting inbound participation statements and receipts
- Create client participations calculations by inputting, analyzing, and verifying data in Excel
Participations Analysis
- Review all Participations, ultimates, accruals, and recoupments
- Analyze and interpret production and distribution contracts and deal memos for participations obligations and accurate calculation of statements
- Provide analysis to determine participations impact in various scenarios
- Project payments to facilitate FP&A processes
- Verify show set-ups and payments for various distribution markets
Participations Payment
- Facilitate payments made to third-party participants
- Work with third party payment processor to provide relevant setup data and ensure complete and accurate setup for participations payments
- Ensure timely remittance of participations payout in accordance with Guild schedules
Compliance
- Collect documentation for guild audits and internal audits
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal/external auditor requests
- Perform compliance tests on participations software system
Miscellaneous
- Perform quarterly close related activities as required
- Accept other ad hoc projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PARTICIPATIONS MANAGER
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience
- At least five (5) years of participations experience
- Process driven
Preferred
- Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian entertainment talent guilds and union contracts
SKILLS OF THE PARTICIPATIONS MANAGER
Technical
- Expert-level MS Excel skill set (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas, data validation, reconciling, etc.)
Interpersonal
- “Roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality
- Systems savvy
- Superb communications skills (oral and written)
