Savannah Technical College is seeking qualified candidates for professional tutoring positions. Tutoring positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis.

Only on-campus opportunities exist at this time.


Job Duties

Under general supervision, duties include a flexible schedule of tutoring the adult learner or a small group of learners enrolled in GED or ESL programs. Must be willing to work flexible hours that might include split tutoring days between campus locations. Provide oral and written reports as required. Performs basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the daily operations of the tutoring program.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Enrolled in or completed college.
  • Proficient in the tutorial subject matter (Mathematics or English) with a minimum overall 3.0 GPA in that subject.
  • Excellent human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of tutoring or teaching experience.

Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in a tutoring center or office environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts objects of a light to medium weight, up to 25lbs.


Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
